Season 18 Grand Final Results

Congratulations to our winners of Pro League and Free League Grand Finals!

At the end of a slow paced, high quality event in the Pro league final, we saw the best final table performance yet, with some big ups and downs, (notably Cliff Davey getting down to a single 500 chip, then scraping up to over 20,000 before being knocked out by a chip leader) some massive hands between big stacks, and some great laydowns. At the end, we had Team WAPL Macau member Matthew Moller vs regular northern suburbs member Darren Hazeldine heads up, with previous WAPL Grand Final Champion Mark Wood getting knocked out in 3rd place.

After a great heads up, Matt managed to take out the event, winning him the Pro Final! He had one lucky hand that led him towards his big stack entry to final table earlier in the event, where his top paired Ace Jack ran into Sam Ingram's set of 9s on the flop (A9rag), and he managed to hit running jacks for a higher full house of JJJAA vs 999JJ to demolish Sam's hopes at Final Table. From that point on, Matt took control and had a great finish to his tournament.

Season 18 Pro League Grand Final Results

Long time members Terry Warby and Albert Garcia, both regular players around WAPL (especially Woodvale) ended a great Free League tournament heads up and looking over the felt at each other. A tense end to a tense tournament saw Terry coming out ahead, winning the Free League Championship!
