Welcome to Season 5!

We're looking forward to bringing you another great Season of Poker with WA Poker League!

First up, the Appealathon WA Poker Showdown got a good response with our members. We were a little disappointed at the lack of attendence from outside our memberbase, considering the amount of TV advertising that went into the event, but nonetheless the 8 Showdown Qualifiers went well!

We'd like to congratulate the winners of each Qualifier, and each of these players will be playing in the Showdown Final Table held at Claremont Footy Club on this coming Sunday 2nd Sept, where the winner will take a very cool $5000 cash!

Thanks to all who participated in the Showdown Tournaments, after the tournaments on the 2nd we'll tally up the amount raised for Appealathon and present them with the cheque!

The 2nd Sept isn't just a big day for the 8 Showdown Finalists, it's a day for everyone! Starting from 5pm, make it down to Claremont Footy Club for a great evening of Poker, starting with the 8 player Showdown Final Table and a $60 buy-in event for Appealathon ($15 to Appealathon, $45 to prizes), and followed by what should be a very fun Heads Up Tournament. Registration to the Heads Up Tournament will be limited to 64 players only, so make sure you get down and registered as soon after 5pm as possible to secure your place! It'll cost just $5 to register for the Heads Up Tournament, and it'll be a knockout with the winner taking all!

Not only that, as usual we'll run Cash Tables and Sit N Go Tables for players out of the Tournaments, again with all profits to Appealathon!

So even if you didn't make it down to a Showdown event, make sure you don't miss the WA Poker Showdown Finals on 2nd September, it'll be a great day!
