King of the Hill Tournament Results!

The King of the Hill Event is over, and was a great success, much to our relief! As we knew, this was the first time this particular Tournament Style has been attempted, and from all the great comments we got throughout the night, you can be sure that the WAPL's King of the Hill tournament structure/style will be revived for another special event night soon!

We had a good turnout of 74 for the event itself, with others opting to stick to the cash tables for the night! They missed out on the strategic and sometimes downright crazy play in the tournament, with players busting out and being reentered into the tournament left right and center throughout the night!

Finally, we reached our final table of 8, which comprised of Lee Mattfield, Carl Brownlow, Janelle Brown, Ryan Bochorsky, Trevor Patient, Len Histon, Mark Pine, and Tyrone Park. We ended up with an awesome prize payout for King of the Hill, with our final 8 playing for a first place of $1184! With blinds at 25,000/50,000 and a staggering amount of chips on the table, they set out to take down the 5 remaining crowns!

Len Histon was in great shape for much of final table, but we ended up with 2 crowned players Heads Up at the end! Mark Pine and Tyrone Parks battled it out at the final 150,000/300,000 blinds for the (roughly) 2.8 MILLION chips on the table, and of course the Crown and the Prize!

Tyrone finally clinched victory from Mark, and although he seemed in awe at winning the tournament outright, it must be said that he did a great job to make it back into the tournament and win. He was our shortest stacked Crownless player during much of Final Table, had a great quad-up and then went though to claim a crown off Len, then the tournament from Mark! Congratulations Tyrone Parks, regular player at Paddy Maguire's, on your big win, and thanks to all participating players for all your compliments throughout the night. Also a huge thanks as usual goes out to the WAPL Staff who worked tirelessly throughout the night to bring you the best standard of Poker that you've come to expect from our Tournaments.
