Season 29 Grand Final write-up!

Season 29 officially ended on Sunday at the Grand Final, and what a day it was!

We saw a Royal Flush, a Straight Flush, and numerous set over set hands throughout the event, adding more excitement to an already supercharged by the huge UFC result!

In the Pro League, we saw a great field of 39 players whittle down to a final 7, where it took 1.5 hours before another player fell! With top 4 in the money, tensions were tight, as was the play all the way to the final hand, where Luke Dick got it all in pre-flop with K7 vs Alex Connell's K10. Dominated and facing elimination, his luck turned as his 7 hit the flop! Suddenly well behind and looking at doubling up Luke into the chip lead, Alex managed to hit one of the remaining 3 10s in the deck to secure the lead, and with the river blanking, the win and the $1285 first place prize money!

Alex Connell, Season 29 Pro League Grand Champion!

The top 4 Pro, in the money! Alex Connell, Luke Dick (2nd - $803), Alex Connell (1st - $1285), Steve Burgess (3rd - $642), and Andy Dark (4th - 482)

Over in the Free League, we saw a much improved structure and great Top 5 bonus change make the event even better than previous seasons! With a great field of 25, our contingent of free league members battled it out fiercely! Reaching heads up was Lawrence Tufnell and Bruce Cohen, and we saw Lawrence triumph as the Season 29 Free League Grand Champion.

Lawrence Tufnell, Season 29 Free League Grand Champion!

Congratulations goes to Alex and Lawrence, the WAPL Season 29 Pro and Free League Grand Champions respectively!
