Season 50 Grand Final approaches, plus changes to Season 51 and other info!
We're approaching the end of Season 50!
Our Season 50 Grand Final is coming up soon @ Scarborough Sports & Community Club
Here are the details -
Season 50 Grand Final - Sunday 16th April, 2023
Great Value Prize Pool!
Quality event, quality venue
20,000 start stack (No rebuys)
30 min blinds starting @ 25/50
$100 entry event. Registration opens 12pm noon.
Tournament starts 1pm.
Top 10% of players win cash prizes!
There will also be Cash Tables running for players who wish to play more poker during the event!
Upcoming changes to Season 51
I've discussed these potential changes with the majority of our players over the last month, to great positive feedback, and am making the following changes come the new season across all venues. The changes are aimed at increasing our prize payouts to players across the board, whilst continuing to offer our industry-leading value for money tournaments, keeping their quality and integrity to the highest standards. I hope that making these changes will attract more players seeking bigger prize pools to our events, without introducing negative changes like re-buys.
As I have suggested in the past, I *highly recommend* you look at how much of the money you pay to play in a poker tournament (wherever you play) actually goes back to the prize pool on the night, as this should be one of the first things any poker player considers before choosing where to play.
Season info, new venues and upcoming holidays
Season 51 officially commences Tuesday April 11th @ Yanchep Sports and Social Club
It will run through until 30th July, 2023, with the proposed Season 51 grand final being 6th August, 2023.
Yanchep Sports & Social Club May Closure
Unfortunately, Yanchep Sports & Social Club will be closed temporarily for May in order for the Council to replace the Club ceiling and air conditioning systems. We will be running right up to the end of April, but will have to wait until June to resume our events (with some great new air conditioning!)
Easter Holidays
We will be taking a break on Easter Sunday and Monday, so there will be no Scarborough Sports & Community Club or Monkey Bar games on this Easter.

- Tournament entry doubled to $100 from $50 - No re-buys, no add-ons/top-ups.
- Tournament prizes doubled - Same great value, $84/$100 to the prize instead of $42/$50
- Tournament start stack increased to 20,000 from 16,000 - More chips!
- Late entry permitted up until end 200/400 blinds (1 hour into play)
These changes mean that all of our prize pools will be doubled, and that players will generally be playing to win more like $700-$1000+ to first place at our events, which hopefully will make them a bigger draw-card for attracting new players!
Given the value in playing our events, it's easy to see that once we have the player numbers, our prize pools will always build faster than anywhere else, without resorting to re-buys, add-ons and top-ups.
